Who We Are

Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies in Bratislava is part of the Slovak University of Technology and the only purely informatic faculty in Slovakia. Our faculty provides students with high-quality education in the field of information technologies.

Our study programmes are certified by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) accreditation and among our teachers work many foreign professors and lectures. The faculty building is one of the most modern in Slovakia, and thanks to our partners, students work with top-notch equipment. Our graduates are recognized IT specialists both in Slovakia and abroad.

We are located close to the centre of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Slovakia is a member of the European Union, the Eurozone and the Schengen Area.

Study Plan

Bachelor’s degree programme opening for the academic year 2025/2026: INFORMATICS

  • Starts in September 2025

During your bachelor`s studies you will gain an overview and the basics of computer science and the functioning of information systems.

In the 1 st year, the study is defined on the basic principles in computer science.

In the 2 nd year, you will begin to look more closely at the area that interests you the most. You will choose electives according to your interests within the following options:

  • Software engineering
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Information security
  • The Internet and internet technology

In the 3rd year, the study is focused on the basis of the chosen subjects in the 2nd and 3rd year of bachelor studies and work on the final bachelor project and its defence.

Careers and Employability

During the 20 years of FIIT STU’s operation in all three levels of its education, more than 5500 graduates have successfully completed their studies.

Today, many of them are recognized IT specialists not only in Slovakia, but also abroad in the fields that their study at FIIT STU provided them with. At the same time, graduates collaborate with the faculty in digital technological research and education of a new generation of IT specialists.

FIIT STU students acquire their knowledge in one of the most modern buildings in Slovak university education with modern technological equipment for teaching and research in all areas of its activity.

ACCOMMODATION

Incoming students have the choice of living in one of the dormitories or we can arrange accommodation in apartments.

Accreditation

Graduates of bachelor’s, engineering and doctoral degree studies at the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies of STU in Bratislava obtain the prestigious British Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) – Chartered Engineering accreditation for all three degrees of study.

The diplomas of our graduates are equivalent to those of other top technical universities such as Oxford University, Cambridge University, Imperial College.

February 28, 2025, early birds – 10% discount of the tuition fee.
April 30, 2025, the final submision deadline

Tuition fees

Application fee 50 €.
Price per one academic year per student is 7,500 €.

The possibility of the dean`s fellowship 2,500 €.

Students are eligible for a scholarship if they achieve an average of a maximum of 2.2.
